Your behaviour shouldbe compatible not onlywith good order within accommodation
and show consideration for your fellow students, but should not disturb, inconvenience
or upsetmembersof staff. Youwill naturally introduce yourself to fellowmembers of your
flat to help establish good relations from the outset.
Having friends around? -
Remember to tell your flat-mates and give themplenty of
notice. Ask your guests to leavequietly, give consideration to others and clear up any
rubbish. Keep the noise levels low andbe responsive to requests for quiet.
Overnight guests? -
You can have overnight guests for nomore than two consecutive
nights. Youwill need to ensure that they have been signed in at TheStudent Village
Reception and remember to inform your fellow flatmates. Youwill be responsible for
your guests’ actions, anti-social behaviour and for any damage theymay cause. Please
ask them tobe considerate to your fellow flatmates.
When returning home late, remember to keep the noise levels down andbe careful not
to slam front/communal doors. Be considerate - your flatmatesmay be asleep, or they
may be studying for an exam. In particular, but not exclusively, youshouldbe fullyaware
that threatening, intimidating, bullying or harassingbehaviour is not tolerated under any
circumstances.
Damage to ormisuse of university propertywill not be tolerated andwill be investigated.
Disciplinary actionwill be taken andmay be very costly.
You are responsible for any damage to the fabric, fixtures and fittings in your room.
If the damage is in a communal area, and the personwho caused the damage cannot
be identified, a detailed investigationwill be undertaken to establish responsibility. If this
proves inconclusive, it will be necessary to charge thewhole flat.
There is a right of appeal via your ResidenceOfficer for any charges against youand
this shouldbe instigatedby youwithin 10days of the charge being raised. Please refer
