Room Inventory &Damages
Onarrival youare required tocheckand signa room inventory
anda statement relating to theconditionof the fabricand
decorationof theflat/room.
The inventory contents vary depending on the type of accommodationprovided. Any
discrepancies or inaccuracies shouldbe recorded on the inventory, whichmust then
be returnedwithin 48 hours of your key collection to your ResidenceOfficer or The
Student VillageReception.
Students are individually responsible for their own room and are collectively responsible
for furnishings, equipment and cleanliness in the sharedparts of buildings. Inspections
aremadeeach termandat theendof theLicenceperiod.
Damage
Any damage to the accommodationwhich is over and above that which couldbe
considered as fair wear and tear is not acceptable. Youwill be charged for any
missing items or damage caused to any part of the accommodation. Youare
not permitted to install additional furnitureor electrical appliances (see
TheStudent
Village
) in rooms or communal areaswithin residences. Any
damage to the accommodationwhich is over and above that which could reasonably
be considered as fair wear and tear is not acceptable.

Thesechargesareonlyaguidelineand theremaybe variations.Certainchargeswill require
confirmation, for example, whereacost is subject toan invoice, and therefore this list
shouldbeusedas an indicator of theapproximatecost youwill becharged.
Pleasenote that this list is not exhaustiveandall amounts are subject toanadministration
fee of £10or £25 for a communal charge. If malicious damage occurs out of hours and
an engineer is required to attend, ‘call out’ chargeswill be added.
